With over twenty years experience in customer service related industries, Rick is committed to understanding his clients' wants and needs and then delivering. "Outside health and family issues, the purchase or sale of a home is probably the most important and complex decision people face, not only on a financial and contractual level, but on an emotional level as well. As we walk through the many facets of a transaction, I want my clients to know that 'problems are only solutions waiting to happen'." The fact that Rick's business is almost 100% referral driven is a testament to the success of that commitment and his personalized service approach. Born and raised in the Anthracite coal region of northeastern Pennsylvania, Rick relocated with his Mother and brother, Dave, to Arizona in 1976. He graduated from Scottsdale Saguaro High School and then moved to Las Vegas where obtained his Bachelors degree in Hotel/Motel Management from UNLV. After working at some of Las Vegas' finest resorts, Hilton Hotels recruited Rick to work at its flagship property, The Tower at Universal City Studios. He was promoted four times in four years and became the Hotels' Food and Beverage Director responsible for five restaurants and nightclubs with nearly fifty people under him. In the aftermath of the Northridge earthquake, Rick heeded a different calling and joined the family real estate business in the rapidly expanding Valley of the Sun. His customer service-driven approach and sharp attention to detail that served him so well in the hotel industry had an immediate impact in Real Estate and by the end of his second year he had already written over 150 contracts. After seven years as an associate, Rick obtained his Broker's license and formed Elton Realty, LLC. Another important value to Rick is giving back to the community, sometimes in interesting ways. A few years ago, he participated in an auction-styled event called 'Bid for Bachelors' to benefit the March of Dimes. In the audience that evening was a pretty office space planner from Phoenix named Nancy Thomas. With the bidding stalled at $350, Nancy turned to her girlfriends around the table, quickly arranged some creative financing and won herself a date. The couple married a few years later and are 'still dating' as they like to say. Today, they have a beautiful little girl, Paris Renee. Nancy also finds time to participate in professional equestrian competitions that help benefit the Make A Wish Foundation and has led Rick to become a specialist in the valley's wide array of horse properties. Rick also enjoys tennis, racquetball, heavy cardio workouts, moto-cross, concerts and Frisbee toss with 'Chase' the family's always eager Border Collie. |
